I’m a beauty addict. There, I said it, and I know I’m not alone! Having a large selection of beauty products can make it difficult to narrow down what to take with you on a trip. Today I’m sharing the makeup tools I take with me when I travel to make it easy to pack and travel!
Tool #1: Beauty Blender
All hail the Beauty Blender! Often imitated never duplicated—I love this thing! If you haven’t heard of the beauty blender you may look at like a sponge, but it is not JUST a sponge! This perfectly shaped beauty tool helps apply makeup of all consistencies to all areas of the face and body. To use it, run it under water until it has absorbed as much water as possible, then ring it out completely and squeeze it in a towel to get out any remaining drips of water. Now you can dab it in your foundations, concealers, blushes, you name it, and pat and push onto your skin for an airbrushed look. I dip the pointed end into concealer for an under eye application and use the rounded end for foundations and blushes. This one tool helps save on the space to pack multiple brushes.
Tool #2: Makeup Palettes
The Mac Pro Palettes and the Z palettes are both magnetic makeup palettes that come empty so you can fill them with your favorite blushes, eye shadows and pretty powders. I love these palettes because so many powders come in palette form (sold as singles with a magnetic backing) so you can create your own perfect palette and color scheme for each trip! I like to look at what I’m wearing for each trip and compose a makeup color scheme that will work with all of my outfits—a few neutral eye colors, a blush, highlighter and contour color usually does it for me. With these palettes you can put all of your perfect colors in one place without having to take several compacts and therefore removing extra bulk from any suitcase!
